The Ziggurat object is part of the Fragile series, which explores the space between sculpture and musical instrument. Its form draws on the symbolism of the ancient ziggurat – a stepped structure intended to connect the human world with the heavens. Similarly, this sculpture creates an imaginary axis between matter and sound, stability and fragility. The construction, made of tempered float glass, is tensioned with strings that serve both as connective and sonic elements. Here, glass does not act merely as a visual material but becomes an active resonator, revealing its lesser-known properties – flexibility, resonance, and the capacity to vibrate. The entire structure evokes a sense of uncertain balance, subtle tension, and apprehension of disruption. Ziggurat thus transforms the archetype of the temple into a delicate acoustic architecture in which both physical and psychological fragility become the central theme.
